This blog is about the anger management class that Bo enrolled in called the Nak Pak. First of all the Nak Pak is a sweet name.
I’ll first talk about Mr. Nak. Mr. Nak is the short Japenese guy who talks like a Texan. He seems trusted by all the kids in the Nak Pak because they all open to him throughout the book. I feel really bad that Mr. Nak killed his kids in a car crash because I don’t think I could live with myself if I did that. The way he handles all the situations that the kids are put through makes me respect him a lot.
Second I’ll talk about Shelly. Shelly is a very muscular girl who dreams about being an American Galdiator. I think that is very werid and I have no idea why Bo is attracted to her. Anyways, Shelly moved to Washington after having problems with her father. She had a record when she came and when she tried-out for the varsity team she didn’t make it because the coach, Mr. Redmond, didn’t want a bad influence. I thought it was cool that she then got a membership pass so she could use the CFU exercise equipment.
Third, I will talk about Hudgie who I have to say is my favorite character for the simple reason that I think he has the worst life of the entire Nak Pak. I feel really bad that his dad shot his dog because he didn’t feed him. He also gets burned by cigarettes which I think is extremely cruel. I am not surprised he is in anger management because I would need it too if I had Hudgie’s dad. I also think it is pretty funny when Hudgie kind of drifts off or randomly starts talking. Hudgie was really awesome when he hid money from his dad so he could make valentines for the Nak Pak.
Fourth, I will talk about Shuja. I think I would just slowly back away from him if I ever met him because he sounds like a really tough guy, but as the book progresses I learned he has a soft side. It was a lucky coincidence that Shuja descovered that Bo’s dad was giving a free Ultra-Lite to Wyrack.
Fifth, I will talk about Elvis. There isn’t much to talk about Elvis but I’ll try to do so. Elvis likes rock’n’roll and doesn’t think he belongs in the Nak Pak. He is very uncomfortable about sharing his home life with anybody and he closes himself out from everybody else. Such as the fact he has to take care of his siblings since his dad ran away. After sharing the latter he started to open up more to the rest of the Nak Pak and became very involved in helping Bo prepare for the triathalon.
Sixth, I will talk about Joey. I think it is hilarious that after Mr. Nak told him not to kill the skunk that the skunk spray all over his house.
Overall the Nak Pak was a big advantage for Bo since they helped them with many parts of his life. They pushed him while he trained for the triathalon and made the tape that I personally think was the major contributor of Bo’s win. They also helped Bo see that people have it a lot worse off then him.
